Pink Bird Card ODBDSLC140

I made this card for Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge ODBDSLC140. The challenge this week was to use White, Pink and Red in our cards.

It's been so cold here that I'm thinking spring, so I used the ODBD set He Watches Me, and cut it with the matching Sparrow Die. The bird is supposed to be a sparrow, but to make it fit the challenge, I turned it into a Crossbill. I don't think I got the white wing bars quite right, and the beak is a little weird, it was kind of hard to make it look crossed, but it does sort of look like one.

The bird is stamped onto Core'dinations pearl using VersaFine, and embossed with clear EP. He is colored with pink, gold and brown Copics. The thistle is colored with green and deep red Copics.

The paper is all from K&Co, and Core'dinations pearl. I used Spellbinders Floral Ovals to die cut with, and layered them dimensionally. All the DP is outlined with a Krylon pen.

The roses are some off white ones I bought at Michaels and shaded with VersaMagic Perfect Plumaria, and the deep red ones were from some bouquets I bought in a close out store. The foliage is from the MS Branch Punch. I finished by adding a few white pearls from my stash.
