Fancy fold ornament card

Yesterday I received my beautiful new stamps from JustRite. I didn't get a chance to finish the card I started, so I am posting this card instead.

I was disappointed in this one when I got it done. It wasn't as pretty as I had envisioned it. I wanted to post it anyway, because the little ornaments were quite pretty alone, and I wanted to show them off.

I was playing around with the Spellbinders 2010 ornaments, cutting and embossing them using Anna Griffin glittery paper, and positioning the small ornaments onto the paper so the glittered designs would form the design on them. Anyway, the ornaments are pretty alone, but the card isn't much! The red paper is really a much deeper shade than it looks in the photo.

All the glittery DP is Anna Griffin and the large ornament is stamped onto Core'dinations Pearl with VersaMark, embossed with Super Fine Detail Gold, and colored with Copics. The design on it is an older JustRite stamp.

Great fold, and I really like the prett ornament in the center. I think it made a very elegant card!

Hi Mary, I can't remember the exact dimensions and my card is at work. I know that I wanted it to fit into an 8 1/5 x 5 1/2 envelope, so I took a 12 x 12 sheet of white and cut it to 12x5.

I cut a slope from the center down to each side, I think it was down to about 3" on the edges. I scored it at something like 2 1/2 in from the sides, and made the next scores about 3/4 of an inch in from that. The center is about 5 1/2" wide.

I actually used the metric side of my cutting mat to measure because it's sometimes easier to see exact measurements on that side, but I don't remember the metric numbers off hand. The numbers I just gave are only approximate.

Getting everything to fit right was a pain.

I did it similarly to this card: http://paperplaybykathi.blogspot.com/2011/11/tryptic-christmas-tree-card-with.html . That one was a pain too. I need to work something out so I have some templates to work with next time!
