This is where I put my cards, and other paper crafts. I hope my blog inspires you to create too!

Pink Flowered Box
I have never made a box before but have seen some beautiful ones on the internet, so I decided to make my own.
I didn't follow any tutorial, I just made it, but I got the box top just a tiny bit too large for the Spellbinders Fleur De Lis die square, and it showed through some of the lace. I went over the edges of the box top with some pink distress stain so it would contrast with the lace.
The pink CS inside the Fleur De Lis is K&CO, and I cut it using the Spellbinders square die. The outside of the box uses the same CS.
The large flower in the center of the top is Prima, and the small roses are some my art supply store packages themselves. They are similar to the Prima ones I used to get there, but are about three times as expensive, and a little larger. They look like the same ones Wild Orchid has. Wild orchid has the same size I used to buy as well as some which are a little larger.
The dots around the lace are Liquid Pearls, and the white pearls on the sides are Queen & Co. I wish the photos were a little clearer. I also didn't photograph the box put together because the Liquid Pearls are still wet.

Butterfly Magic Box Revised and Finished
I added a lot more to the butterfly box I posted the other day, and finished the outside. The dies are by Spellbinders and the "non flying" butterflies are Cheery Lynn, the flowers are Prima and Recollections. I forgot to scrunch the roses on the sides back up after gluing them onto the box. They were made with three Recollections flowers scrunched up and glued on top of each other. The ones on top are the Prima ones. I curled the stems by rolling them around my embossing tool.
The pearls are Queen & Co and Liquid Pearls, and the "flying" butterflies are Martha Stewart. The paper is DCWV, Core'dinations Pearl and Anna Griffin.

Magic Butterfly Box
Over a year ago I saw some Magic Boxes at this site. I thought they were beautiful, but never got around to making any. Then, yesterday, on one of my favorite blogs, Monia made one. She has made a bunch of them, which you will see if you click on her name. The link goes directly to her exploding boxes where there are two or three pages of them. (Be sure to look at the rest of her blog as well, because she has made a lot of really beautiful things).
Anyway, today I decided to make my own. I haven't finished the cover yet, and can't show you the outside because my glue, Stickles and Liquid Pearls are still wet. I won't get a chance to finish this box at least until Monday, so I will add photos of it all together then. I kept sticking my fingers into the Stickles and Liquid Pearls, so I decided to stop and wait to finish it.
The paper is DCWV Linen Stack, Core'dinations Pearl, and Anna Griffin. The flying butterflies are Martha Stewart, and the ones on the sides are Cheery Lynn. The flowers are Recollections.
I added crystal Stickles to each butterfly body, and buttercup Liquid Pearls to the centers of the flowers.
I'll add more photos in a couple of days when I finish the box.
I'm adding a lot more than I expected to this box, and a lot of things need to dry before doing more on it, so I haven't added the rest of the photos yet.

Magic Box with matchboxes, Spellbinders and Creatables
I saw an exploding card somewhere on the internet that included a matchbox chest of drawers in the center. I thought I had bookmarked the site, but I can't find it anywhere, and googling Magic Box wasn't any help. Anyway, I thought the idea of adding the chest of drawers to an exploding card sounded like fun, so I tried it. I made the box just like I make the largest exploding boxes, using a 12" square of CS, scoring at 4", but I didn't cut out the corners.
I used Spellbinders dies on the outside, then added Marianne Creatables flowers. I put fast drying glue into the centers of the flowers and added no holes beads.
The top is all Spellbinders, using their carnation die for the flower.
I wanted flowers inside, and expected them to be on the small leaves, but after making everything, I realized that the flowers would have to be on the corners instead because of the way the box folded. It also doesn't lie flat when opened because of the flowers on the outside.
The chest of drawers is made from four small match boxes covered in Anna Griffin striped paper. I painted the ends white, and added green brads for knobs.

Exploding Box Album
This is the first time I have made an exploding box. I had a very clear picture in my head of how it was going to look, but unfortunately, I made the top last, and I didn't realize that it was going to cover up half of the sides. I had pictured it as having the toile design on top, and being able to see the same design on all four sides.
I didn't get too fancy with the inside panels, I just used the Spellbinders labels one to make plain panels to either add photos or comments inside the box. Since I have the box for sale in my shop, I decided it would be easier for whoever bought it to customize it themselves this way. I also used labels one on the outside.
The box is made of textured linen card stock and toile background paper. I added a rolled rose which I made by using a scalloped circle nestability cut into a spiral. The border around the top is from a Marianne Creatable. I didn't have any ribbon of the right width in a matching color to weave it through the border, so I glued a wider one under the border so it shows through the slots. I then added Queen & Co. pearls.
