Asian Inspired Quad Twisted Easel Card
I used this Asian stamp set from Fiskars to make an Asian Inspired quad twisted easel card. This is a side view showing the peace and love stamps from the set.
This side shows a lantern and the happiness stamp.
This is the card from above.
This is how the card looks closed.
I used black CS, gold mirror card, some more of the red art paper, and some origami paper from my stash. The stamping was done with VersaMark, and was embossed with gold EP. The red squares were cut with a Spellbinders die, and a gold outline was made with a gold Gellyroll pen. The origami paper was also cut with the same die and outlined in gold. The whole card was mounted onto a white square card which opens to write inside.

Butterflies and Dogwood Easel Card
This is the first card I made with the Sizzix/Hampton Arts stamp and die set. Now that it's finished, I think it's a bit busy for such a small card, but it is what it is.
All the butterflies and flowers are from the stamp and die set, and the squares and fancy borders were cut with Spellbinders dies.
All the paper is Core'dinations white pearl CS. The pink part of the card is shaded with a brilliance pink ink, and the butterflies and flowers are colored with Copics. The stamping was done with VersaMark, and embossed in gold, then pink Liquid Pearls were added.
Yes, it's pink Jill. :-)

PSX Marshall Point Light Easel Card

Here is another nautical card from and old Marshall Point Light stamp by PSX. If you've ever seen the movie Forest Gump, this is the lighthouse from the movie. It is located in Port Clyde, Maine, near Rockland.
I stamped this onto K&Co DP using brown ink, then embossed it with clear EP. The sentiment is from JustRite. I used my Ranger nibs to color it with white and various shades of brown. It was matted with generic CS in shades of brown and mounted onto an antique metallic copper colored card, and K&Co dimensional stickers were added.

Roses and Butterflies Twisted Easel Card

I have been working on those commissioned altered cigar boxes, so I don't have a new card to share. Instead I'm uploading one of my very early cards. I think it was only the second twisted easel card I ever made.
As I was looking through my old card photos for something to post I ran across this one, and even though it's different from the cards I make now, it actually was quite pretty in real life. I put it into my shop at the time, and someone bought it the first day. I think if I was making this card now, I would probably add more embellishments, but in those days, I didn't have much to work with.
I have no ides where the rose graphic came from, it might have been from Dover Publications. I do know that it is matted with gold mirror card and mounted onto some Anna Griffin paper in my stash.

Oval Cameo Card

I finished this card very late last night.
The card is made using Spellbinders Floral Ovals. I wanted the card to be shaded with Brilliance Rocket Red Gold and Delicata Golden Glitz, but the red gold wasn't quite gold enough, so I shaded over the top of it with the Golden Glitz, and it gave a really pretty pink gold shimmer. I wish it showed in the photo.
The card is embellished with a pink pearl, some gold Liquid Pearls, a Cameo from my stash, and a string of tiny gold pearls for a frame around the cameo. All the dies were outlined just inside the die with a gold Gellyroll pen.

This is Your Day Gatefold Easel Card
I got another pretty paper stack called Antiquity at Hobby Lobby last week, and decided to use it to make a gatefold easel card.
All the die cuts are Spellbinders Labels Eight and Decorative Labels Eight. All the paper was shaded with either Distress Antique Linen, or Anna Griffin Cocoa, and the stamping was done with Anna Griffin Cocoa.
I finally got some new clear embossing powder. I had some of the very early powder, and it never really worked, but the new one is really nice. I used it to emboss all the sentiments, and they looked so shiny with it. With the old stuff, it just flattened out, and you couldn't tell I'd used it. I can't believe the difference in the new stamps, inks, and powders they make now, and the stuff from 15 or 20 years ago, when the only stamping stuff you could find was in kiosks at the malls. For years, I seldom stamped because I made so many duds. Now everything stamps so nicely!
The sentiments are all by Becca Feeken, and are made by JustRite for Becca's Kit Club. They were included in the November kit, and I thought they included a lot of nice sayings for anyone's special day.
I decided to do something different for the corners on this card. I cut and embossed the largest of the Decorative labels Eight, then I taped the second largest Plain Labels Eight in the center of the die cut, and cut the opening. The resulting frames were trimmed with scissors and added to the corners of the card.
Since the papers and the frames were so busy, I decided to use only a few pearls for embellishments. The pearls were white, but I colored them with a Krylon pen and let them dry before attaching them to the card.

Happy Anniversary Easel Card PSX Stamp
I was going through my older stamps, and realized I hadn't used this Happy Anniversary stamp from PSX in years.
I decided to do an easel card, and I wanted it to be warm and romantic looking, so I chose this paper from K&Co, and used VersaMagic Perfect Plumaria to do the stamping and shading.
The tags were made with two Spellbinders dies. I shaded the scalloped one, and used a blending stump to outline the inside of the top one with the Plumaria ink. Then I ran the stamp pad around the outside edges. The blending stump didn't make as sharp an outline as I would have liked, so I went over it with a matching Gelly Roll pen.
The tags are mounted dimensionally on their rectangular backgrounds, and those are mounted dimensionally onto the card.
For the foliage, I used the McGill punch because I wanted the branches to be a little larger than the MS ones. It's nice to have both punches because they are virtually identical except for the size. Sometimes I use both on one project, and at other times I only use one.
The roses are a little brighter than I would have liked, but not as bright as in this photo. They are a deeper red in real life, and the ribbon exactly matches the red paper I used for matting, even though it looks purple in this photo.
I finished the card by adding deep red pearls.

Our Friendship Card JRC_086
I made this card for the JustRite Papercraft Challenge #086 - Proud As A Peacock. For this challenge, we were to use peacock colors in our creations.
I decided to use my newest JustRite stamp set Vintage Oval Labels. I stamped them with VersaMark, and embossed them in gold. Then I colored them with Gelly Roll pens in shades of blue, green, violet and yellow. They were stamped onto Core'dinations Pearl paper. I love the metallic and sparkly look of the Gelly Roll pens on this paper.
I shaded the centers of the labels with violet Brilliance Ink, and cut them out with scissors. (There are matching Spellbinders dies for these labels, but I don't have them). Then, I outlined them with a gold pen, and mounted them onto pearlescent violet paper from my stash. I cut out around the label, and outlined that with gold as well.
The papers I used are DCWV Mariposa Stack, Core'dinations Pearl in white, and Gemstones in blue, more of the pearlescent violet paper, and Gold Mirror Card separating each layer from the next.
The white daisies are from Recollections, and the blue ones are some I made by layering various flower parts. The stamens were colored with a gold pen, and I added gold pearls to three of the corners. Both of the labels were mounted dimensionally.

Lacy Poinsettia Card ODBDSLC127
I made this card for Our Daily Bread Designs ODBDSLC127 LEAF- Create your own letter Recipe Challenge. This week's challenge is to use three letters in the word "LEAF" and create a card or project beginning with those letters.
On my card L=Leaves, Layers, and Lacy, E=Embossing and Easel Card, A=Adhesive Pearls, and F=Flower and Fancy Fold.
The white paper is Core'dinations Pearl, the green is a generic pearlized paper, and I used gold mirror card for the mat. All stamping is VersaMark, embossed with Super Fine Detail Gold EP, and the coloring is done with Copics.
The poinsettia is from ODBD's Blessed Christmas Set and cut with their Custom Poinsettia Die. The Merry Christmas is from their Worship the Lord Set.
I also used Spellbinders Labels Eight, Decorative Labels Eight, and Fancy Tags Two, as well as some half pearls.
The poinsettia and tag are mounted dimensionally.

Gold and Green Ornament Card JRC#083
I haven't entered anything into the JustRite Friday Challenge for a long time, and since I just got all these new stamps from them, I thought this would be a good time to enter again.
This time the challenge is "Three's Company", and we are to use three or more coordinating papers in our creations. This was difficult for me, since I normally don't use too many different colors or patterns of papers on the same card.
As I was going through my stash of Anna Griffin papers, I found some more of these green and gold pine cone papers, and decided to see which other ones would match. I finally settled on a holly paper which matched the green in the pine cone paper.
I stamped the "Merry Christmas" and an ornament from JustRite's Noel Christmas Ornaments set using VersaMark and Super Fine Detail gold embossing powder, then cut the ornament out with the matching Spellbinders 2010 Heirloom Ornaments. For the sentiment, I used Spellbinders Fancy Tags One to cut and emboss the tag, and outlined it with a gold pen to make it match the ornament better. These were stamped on a pearl green CS from my stash.
I cut plain ivory CS to form a 5x7 easel card, and used my Xyron to mount the holly paper onto it, then I matted the pine cone papers with gold mirror card and mounted them onto the holly paper. The ornament and tag are mounted dimensionally onto that.
The card looked kind of dark and plain, so I added some gold outline stickers from my stash, a gold bow I made, and some gold half pearls.

Christmas Quad Twisted Easel Card
It's been a long time since I made a quad twisted easel card, so I dug out some of my older JustRite stamps. These older two inch stamps are the perfect size for this type of card.
The top photo shows the card folded flat for mailing.
This is a view from the top looking down at the card, and the following photos show how the card looks from each side as you turn it.
Each color, and both the frame and the center design are on different layers, and I outlined each one with gold. I meant to mount the little center design dimensionally on each one, but after I finished the first little easel, I forgot and mounted it flush with the card, so I had to do them all that way.

Silent Night Easel Card
I've made a number of cards using these dies from Marianne Designs, and I wanted to do something different with them, so I made an easel card.
I used another sheet of this pearlescent textured blue as the background, and since I still don't have any silver mirror card, I outlined it with a silver Jelly Roll Pen.
The sleigh and reindeers, villages, and poinsettias are all Marianne Creatables, the snowflakes are an EK Success punch, and the saying was stamped using VersaMark and embossed with Recollections Opaque White, then cut and embossed with Spellbinders Labels Four.
I'm not really happy with the white embossing powder. The "Silent Night" is from Our Daily Bread Design's Blessed Christmas Set, and is very fine and beautiful, but every time I emboss anything with this white, it always spreads and the detail doesn't show. I need to find a white that keeps the fine details.
Anyway, after applying everything to the card, I used crystal Stickles to highlight the embossing, and to cover the snowflakes.

For my card, I decided to make the background using the beautiful Joy to the World Hymn. I wanted my card to be 5x7, so I mounted it onto gold mirror card, and mounted that onto this metallic gold poinsettia paper I had in my stash.
For the focal point, I used ODBD's gorgeous Ornaments Set, and cut it out with Spellbinders 2010 Heirloom Ornament Dies.
For the base of the easel, I used ODBD's Blessed Christmas Set, and cut it out with their custom Poinsettia Die. This perfectly matched die, cut all of those intricate leaves and stems in just a few seconds!
All stamping was done with VersaMark, and the embossing was done using Superfine Detail Gold. The shading on the ornament was done with Distress Antique Linen, and all of the outline stickers have been in my stash for years. The pearls are Queen & Co, and all the coloring was done with Copics.
I can't wait to see all of your beautiful entries in this challenge!

Doily Santa Card
I used two different Marianne Creatables for this card. First, I cut out the doily using green and metallic gold card stock. Then I cut out the corners six times using the same metallic gold. After that, I just embossed the same corners two times with green card stock, and cut around them with scissors to frame two of the corners. I kept cutting and fitting everything together for the front of the card so it would look like two of the corners were part of the doily, and the other four would look like a large square doily in the background.
After that, I cut another large doily and mounted it on the bottom part of the easel. I stamped the sentiment from ODBD's Blessed Christmas Set onto the center of the doily with VersaMark, and embossed it with SuperFine Detail Gold.
All gold outlining was done with Pentouch Gold. The pearls were some small white ones which I colored with a Copic to match the green in the card. The Santa is one of those embossed German die cut ones from a sheet I've had for years.

Smooth Sailing Easel Card ODBDSLC115
I made this card for Our Daily Bread Designs ODBDSLC115 Tearing or Distressing.
For this card I used the ship from ODBD's new set Surging Sea. The sentiments and matching compass are from their new set Smooth Sailing.
All coloring is Copics, and all distressing is Distress Antique Linen. The DP is K & Co, matted with some linen textured metallic Antique gold CS I've had for ages. All the motifs are mounted dimensionally, and an additional compass was cut from the Smooth Sailing set and mounted dimensionally over the compass on the ship stamp. I also stamped the compass with gold, then stamped the Louisa May Alcott saying over that compass with VersaFine Onyx Black, and cut the saying out with Spellbinders Labels Twenty One. The Smooth Sailing was cut with Spellbinders Fancy Tags One.
To add extra interest, I tied a carrick bend made with two strands, and a square knot made with four strands with hemp twine.

Congratulations Butterfly Easel Card
I made this card for Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 36 - Silver and/or Gold. So far, my collection of Cheery Lynn Dies is very small, but I have the Kiwi Doily on it's way to me, so it's growing!
For this challenge, I used the Exotic Butterflies Small #2, and cut them out of gold mirror card. The DP is from DCWV's Mariposa Stack, which is mounted on more gold mirror card, dark green CS, and white CS.
Most of the stamps are from JustRite, except for the frame around the "Congratulations" one, which is a very old clear stamp, and I have no idea who made it. The stamping was done with VersaMark, and embossed with Superfine Detail Gold EP. The stamps were mounted dimensionally. The Pearls are Queen & Co.

Poinsettia Ornament Opening Easel Card ODBDSLC115
I made this card for Our Daily Bread Designs ODBDSLC115 Tearing or Distressing. My latest ODBD stamps are Christmas ones, and I was anxious to try them out, so I used parts of three of them for this card.
The ornament stamps are Ornaments, and they are cut with Spellbinders 2010 Heirloom Ornament Set. The saying inside is also from the ODBD Ornaments set, and the saying at the bottom of the easel is from the ODBD Blessed Christmas Set. The Music background is the ODBD Joy to the World Hymn.
The top photo shows the card when it is closed.
The second photo is when the card is opened like a normal card.
The bottom Photo shows the card as an easel card.
The challenge was to use either distressing or tearing. I'm really not a fan of torn cards, so I used a lot of distressing on this one. Everything is distressed with either Distress Antique Linen, Distress Peeled Paint, or both. All coloring is Copics, and the ornaments are shaded, although the shading doesn't show up in these photos. They also look much brighter in the photo than in real life. I outlined many parts of the stamping with a JellyRoll metallic gold pen, and outlined the die cuts and pages with Krylon 18K Gold. To make the lettering match the ornaments, I outlined the first letter of each word with the Jellyroll pen. The centers of the ornaments are Liquid Pearls, and I added two dots of Liquid Pearls at the top and bottom of the ornament with the saying, which also has room for signing and adding a special message. The pearls are Queen & Co.
Some of my blog friends thought this was more than one card. Actually, it is only one card. It looks like any ordinary card at first, and opens like one, but the whole card is attached to an easel, so if you open it by lifting the card up, it will stand like any easel card. I decided to try making it this way so there would be more room for sentiments and to show off more of these beautiful stamp sets!

Lobster and Crab Double Easel Card JRC_076
I decided to make another card for JustRite Friday Challenge #076 - "Stars & Stripes".
For this card, I used some striped and matching red CS with a very subtle Checkerboard pattern that I bought last winter at Hobby Lobby. Unfortunately, I don't remember the brand. It was one I hadn't seen before. I used a variety of stamps and dies from JustRite. The Lobster, Crab, and stars are from the Oceanside Oval Medallion - Cling set, and the tiny scallop shells and the saying are from the Sea Shell Bay Labels Twenty Two - Cling set. The lobster and crab were cut with JustRite's Custom Nested Oval Medallion Labels Dies and the large star for signing the card was cut with JustRite's Custom Nested Medallion Labels Dies.
All distressing was done with Antique Linen, and the stamping was done with Distress Fired Brick. I traced inside the die on the crab and star shapes with a red sharpie, and ran my sponge dauber around the outside of the die cuts with Fired Brick. When I was trying to decide what to put on the opposite easel from the lobster, I found that the crab and the saying would fit together perfectly inside the same die as I used for the lobster, and I really liked that saying. I really like the fact that so many of JustRite's sets compliment each other so you get even more variety every time you buy a new set!

Bird and Clover Double Twisted Easel Card ODBDSLC114
I finally got a chance to finish this card while the kids were out hiking today. I made it for the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge ODBDSLC114, which was to make any creation with Our Daily Bread Designs Stamps.
For my card, I used He Watches Me, and once again turned the sparrow into a bluebird because I just love bluebirds. I cut the die with the matching ODBD Custom Sparrow Die.
For the other side, I used the Simple Things stamp set and cut it with the matching ODBD Custom Clover Die .
For the labels, I used the Mother Theresa saying from the Simple Things Set, and a label from the Bird and Butterfly Labels and cut them with the matching Spellbinders Labels Eighteen.
The stamping was done with VersaFine and Distress Peeled Paint, and the label with the saying was distressed with Peeled Paint. All the coloring was done with Copics. I wanted to add a little sparkle to everything, so I used various Jellyroll pens over the copics in many places. (The sparkles don't show up in the photograph, I suppose because they are subtle). I also outlined all the diecuts with a Krylon 18K pen.
I had cut out some ODBD Butterflies to use on the card as well, but they were too large for my design, so I punched some Martha Stewart ones to use in place of them. I mounted the butterflies onto some blue mulberry paper and cut around it so there would be blue inside the butterflies' holes, and used Copics and Jellyrolls on them too.
The background papers are mulberry paper in green, dark blue, and light blue with grasses in it. These were mounted on white CS with my Xyron and cut with Spellbinders Labels One.
Since the card is 5x10, and would be a strange size, I made it so it folds in the middle, so the bird is on the front, and the clover is on the back when folded completely up. This way it will fit into a 6x6 envelope. I had originally planned on making it a triple easel with a vertical Bird and Butterfly label as the center easel, but I thought the card might be more difficult to mail that way, and I wasn't sure I could devise a way to fold it with the center easel.
I'm proud to say that this card won at Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge Thank you so much!

Lighthouse Double Easel Card
This card uses JustRite's Oceanside Oval Medallion for most of the elements, and JustRite's Sea Shell Bay Labels Twenty Two for the little shells which hold the card open.
The shading on the labels is Aegean Blue, and the distressing around the card is Distress Antique Linen. The coloring on the rope, border and wave is done with Copics. The paper is K&Co.
I stamped the lighthouse three times, and cut them all out with JustRite's Nested Oval Medallion Labels Dies, then I cut just the lighthouse out of one of the stampings, inside the red border, and traced that around the saying and cut the saying so it would be the exact same size and shape as the inside of the red border on the extra stampings. Then I mounted both the lighthouse and the saying dimensionally inside the borders on the extra stamped images. I hope that was clear as mud!
It was originally going to be a double twisted easel card, but I messed that up, and made it a double easel card instead. I made it so the two easels were different heights to make it look more interesting.
