Scalloped Flower JRC_073

I hadn't planned on making a card for the JustRite Challenge #073 - "Anything But Square" until my new JustRite stamps get here, but I was playing with my new Spellbinders Die and the JustRite Elegant Frames Set went perfectly with this card. Since it isn't square, I decided to enter it.

I was holding my new die over some of my paper, trying to find something that was different, and when I held it over this large flower on some Walmart paper, it looked kind of neat. The paper is much pinker than it looks in this photograph. In the photograph it looks red. I mounted it on some green linen textured paper, but I'm not sure what brand it is, and then onto white CS.

The frame is stamped with Distress Peeled Paint, and the saying with a Dazzles Pink, which matches the actual color of the flower much better in real life than in the photograph. Then I cut them out with Spellbinders Labels Ten. When I tried them on the card, the smaller die cut looked too white, so I used the Dazzles Pink on a sponge and sponged it so it would be lighter than the lettering and have kind of an uneven color to give it more dimension. The card also needed something else, so I added some really old Wright's Trim to the top and some roses I made to the bottom. Then I added gold stickles, which give it a touch of glitz. The stickles are really sparkly in person, but it's raining here today, and the sparkle doesn't show up much in the photo.
