Anna Griffin and Spellbinders Christmas Card 2

This is another card using Anna Griffin CS. I cut the saying from a sheet of Anna Griffin CS. Unfortunately it didn't fit the Spellbinders die, so I mounted it on a sheet of matching cs and then used my Grand Calibur to make the die cut. I mounted this on die cut gold mirror card and mounted the whole thing on the card using dimensional tape. The green paper is also Anna Griffin mounted on gold mirror card and put onto an off white note card. The pearls are Queen & Co.

Train Christmas Card

This is another piece of my German Scrap. I still had the green Anna Griffin pine cone paper out, and decided the train looked nice on it, so I paired it with Anna Griffin gold pine cone paper, and gold mirror card. I layered them all and mounted them on a cream colored note card. I had a little package of die cut holly branches, I can't remember where it came from, but but cutting the last three leaves off of each branch made them fit the corners of this card perfectly. I wasn't really sure I liked the metallic berries on the card, but they sort of tied in with the gold mirror card, so I left them the way they were rather than playing with them and risking making them worse. The pearls in the corners are Queen & Co.

German Scrap Santa Card

This is another card made from my collection of German scrap. He is on Core'dinations white pearl cs which was embossed in my Big Kick using a Sizzix embossing folder. The pearl cs is mounted on gold mirror card, which is mounted on Anna Griffin red glittered paper. The pearls are Queen & Co. The red glittered paper is mounted with my Xyron onto more pearl paper which I cut to size for the card. I added gold glitter to the centers of the snowflakes.

Anna Griffin Merry Christmas Card

This card is similar to an example on last year's Calisto cardstock pack. I cut the label from one piece of AG paper, and mounted it on red and green AG pine cone paper. The green background paper is applied using my Xyron to cardstock cut to make a 5x5 card. The light tan paper behind the red is the back of a sheet of AG cardstock which matches the background of the label. (I didn't like the colors in the pattern on the front). I cut around it with patterned scissors. Then I added AG holly die cuts, and used Queen & Co. cranberry colored pearls for berries to add dimension and a richer color.

Spellbinders and German Scrap Christmas Card

I've been looking through my German Scrap sheets lately and found this really pretty one. I mounted it on victorian green metallic cs, and mounted that on gold mirror card. The gold is reflecting the green in the photo. I guess my phone's camera and the Picassa editor don't do the best job with colors!

These were all mounted onto a Core'dinations Pearl cardstock which I cut with my Grand Calibur. I added Queen&Co pearls and added some pearl colored stickles to the snow, and gold to parts of the horses fancy stuff and the nutcracker's hat.

Anna Griffin and Spellbinders Christmas Card

This is the second card I made from the Anna Griffin set. The red isn't bright like this in person.

I hadn't used these cards before because I was never happy with anything I tried on them. Today I was looking through my German Scrap and decided this Santa was perfect for one of the AG cards. I found a coppery red pearlescent card stock which was almost exactly the shade of the red on the card, and luckily one of my off white sheets was almost exactly the color of the craft stock the card is printed on. The coppery red one is actually a very subtle pearlescent, not bright like it looks in the photograph.

I cut the two pieces of CS on my Grand Calibur using label Four and mounted the santa on those, then used dimensional tape to apply that and the Anna Griffin label to the card. The label looks gray with white, but it is really cream colored with metallic gold lettering and border. It's funny how different metallic things look to the camera than they do to the naked eye.

Anna Griffin Christmas Card

This card was made from an Anna Griffin kit I got last year. There were 20 cards and envelopes in the kit and lots of die cuts. I used dimensional tape on the die cuts. The cards open up from the bottom of the striped piece, and are #10 size. The labels are off white with gold metallic lettering.

Blue Spellbinders Best Wishes Card

I am always inspired by Becca Feeken's beautiful cards. I loved this one and had to try a similar one. I love the Just Rite stamps, but so far I don't have any, so I used what I had. My card isn't anywhere near as nice as Becca's.

I used a generic blue linen textured CS, Core'dinations Pearl CS and some blue flowered paper I made on my computer. The lattice is a Sizzix die I cut in my Big Kick, and the center is Spellbinders cut in my Grand Calibur. The fleur de lis is an Anna Griffin corner punch, and the pearls are Queen & Co. I did the lettering on my Pazzles Inspiration using generic gel pens before I got my Jellyrolls. I outlined the die cut with a jellyroll.

School Projects

I haven't been doing much on my blog this week because I have been doing a school project for my granddaughter. She lives in New York, and her class sent away drawings of themselves to learn about different parts of the country.

I decided to make a blog for her so she could see what Flat Corrin was doing while she was here. When it is time to send Flat Corrin back, I will print out the blog and send it back with her. If you are interested, the blog is here: Flat Corrin . You have to start at the bottom.

Magic Box with matchboxes, Spellbinders and Creatables

I saw an exploding card somewhere on the internet that included a matchbox chest of drawers in the center. I thought I had bookmarked the site, but I can't find it anywhere, and googling Magic Box wasn't any help. Anyway, I thought the idea of adding the chest of drawers to an exploding card sounded like fun, so I tried it. I made the box just like I make the largest exploding boxes, using a 12" square of CS, scoring at 4", but I didn't cut out the corners.

I used Spellbinders dies on the outside, then added Marianne Creatables flowers. I put fast drying glue into the centers of the flowers and added no holes beads.

The top is all Spellbinders, using their carnation die for the flower.

I wanted flowers inside, and expected them to be on the small leaves, but after making everything, I realized that the flowers would have to be on the corners instead because of the way the box folded. It also doesn't lie flat when opened because of the flowers on the outside.

The chest of drawers is made from four small match boxes covered in Anna Griffin striped paper. I painted the ends white, and added green brads for knobs.

Card using Anja Style Stencils and Spellbinders

This one didn't come out very well. My xacto blade was dull, and living on an island,  we have to drive 40 miles to get a new one. It doesn't look as ragged in real life as it does in this photo.

The moire paper is mounted onto a white card using my Xyron Creative Station. The Anja Style Stencil by Marianne Designs was flopped when I embossed and cut it to make the top and bottom match, and I put green ribbon behind the center slots.

The design in the center was cut from spellbinders dies, and I added the cutouts from the green part to the four corners, putting Queen & Co. pearls on top. Then I added a narrow bow made with Offray ribbon.

I got more goodies today!

I had to take the truck to Bangor (Maine) today to get something fixed, and they gave me a loaner, so of course I went to JoAnne's and AC Moore.

I usually prefer JoAnne's, but lately they haven't been as good as they used to be. I did manage to get two packs of K&Company die cuts. I love the new packs with lots of things in them. They didn't have any of the 3-D packs today, but I got a pack of 58 Tim Coffey die cut CS and Acetate ones, and a Susan Winget set of 84. Those are so much fun because there is so much in them!

Then, I have never bought any Tim Holtz distress ink. I really wanted green, but they didn't have it, so I bought crushed olive and faded jeans.

They didn't have any new Spellbinders, so I didn't get any of those there. They also didn't have a good sale. I wanted the Mariposa stack from DCWV, but in order to get a coupon, you have to send a text. Well, the text didn't work. I tried three times, but no coupon, and the girls there aren't helpful like they used to be. Since I didn't have much money with me, I passed on that.

Then I went to AC Moore. They finally managed to get my white Queen & Co. pearls in. Those are a great buy, 48 pearls in three sizes for one dollar. I got 4 packs. They also finally got a new Spellbinders die, Labels Eighteen, so I got that with a 40% off coupon. They also had Tim Holtz distress ink in peeled paint, which was the one I wanted.

Then I found one Mariposa stack left, and it was 40% off. I was almost out of money, but I've also never had Stickles before. It sure was difficult deciding which three pack to buy, since I knew I could only get one, so I got the Christmas color set.

Now, about the Tim Holtz distress ink. I actually thought they were regular ink pads only shaded, like the picture on the front, but they aren't. I think the picture is what you get when you wipe them over crushed paper. I figured you could put your stamp pad on them and have shaded ink for foliage and things. I guess I will go check out projects for them. I really am not fond of the distressed look, but I'm sure I can use them for something nice. :-)

Gold Six Step Card

This was the first six step card I made. I cut the card out of Core'dinations white and gold pearl papers on my Pazzles Inspiration. The floral paper is Anna Griffin, and the butterflies were from an old botanical. The lettering was also done on the Pazzles with Jellyroll pens.

Marianne Designs Poinsettia Card

The background of this card is done with a Marianne Designs embossing and cutting folder. It is mounted on red cs, gold mirror card, green cs, and a white card.

The poinsettia is layered, and some of those awful bridal pearls I paid so much for are used as accents. The snowflakes are plastic craft buttons I cut the shanks off of.

Easel Card with Drawers

This is the first time I have made an easel card with matchbox drawers underneath. I painted the drawers blue inside and out, then added paper to the long edges to make them match the background paper, and added brass brads for drawer pulls.

The white card stock is Core'dinations Pearl, and the green is moire paper mounted on card stock with my Xyron. I made the blue patterned paper on my computer.

The dies are Spellbinders, and the 3D flower was in my stash. (Most of my flowers are punched out and in separate pockets in an album). The pearls are Queen & Co. and the ribbon is some I got at JoAnne's. The die cut on the front was outlined with a Sakura Pen Touch, and I used a tiny dab of gold glitter glue in the centers of the flowers.

Another Santa Card

This Santa card uses a Sizzix snowflake embossing folder for the background and Spellbinders dies for the frame around the Santa.The blue paper is artist paper I bought a long time ago in an art supply store. It is heavier than card stock and has a nice sheen to it. The Pearls are Queen & Co.

Marianne Creatable Santa Card

I've had this die cut for a long time. I think it was from Dover. The color is a bit orangey, so I hadn't used it yet. The other day, I put it on a sheet of metallic bronzey red paper, and he looked nice, so I mounted him using dimensional tape on a cutout from a Marianne Creatable, and put four of the elements from that set around him and mounted it all on white cardstock.

Filigree Butterfly Card

This card uses an Anja Style Corner by Marianne Designs and a filigree butterfly by Cheery Lynn. The butterfly is mounted on a flower from Spellbinders. I love all the cutting and embossing dies we now have access to!

The pink moire paper was bought at craft store and mounted onto white card stock using my Xyron. It's a regular weight paper, and mounting it on card stock enables me to use it like any other card stock. I am always on the lookout for beautiful papers. The lavender paper is some linen textured card stock I've had for a while. The pearls are Queen & Co.

Marianne Creatables Christmas Scene

This card uses Marianne Creatables for the villages, sleigh and reindeer. I don't remember who made the star paper, it was in my filing cabinet. I also used gold mirror card, dark green card stock and white cardstock.

The sleigh looked really empty, so I cut a Dresden Santa out of his Dresden sleigh and put him in this sleigh. I used a Sakura glue pen on the raised parts of the die cuts and sprinkled gold embossing powder on the glue. I then heat embossed it, and added gold cord for reins.

Six Step Card

I made this six step card on my Pazzles Inspiration last year. All the cutting and lettering was done on the Pazzles. The flowered paper is Anna Griffin and the light blue pearlized card stock was some I bought in a large sheet at an art supply shop. The dark blue is a generic brand, and the white squares with joy in them are on Core'dinations white pearl paper.

Another Twisted Easel Card

This was the first twisted easel card I made.

I used Core'dinations white pearl card stock, Core'dinations pink linen textured pearl card stock, Queen & Co. pearls, Dresden paper lace and gold mirror card. The border was punched with a Martha Stewart punch.

Marianne Designs Christmas Card

I feel kind of guilty. I stole this design from here . It's at the bottom of the page with a bird on it. That card was so pretty, and Corry's site was my biggest reason for buying those Marianne products.

I did change mine, but the card was definitely copied from her's. My card was made completely with Marianne Creatables and ordinary red and white card stock.

The rhinestones are Queen & Co.

Embossed Vellum Christmas Card

I used a Marianne Designs embossing and cutting folder in my Sizzix Big Kick for this card. I enjoyed doing the pink Cuttlebug Plus one so much, I had to try a Christmas one. I wanted to do this one entirely by embossing, so I used a brass poinsettia stencil I've had for years, and embossed that part on a light table.

I mounted the vellum on green card stock with brass brads. The green is mounted on gold mirror card, and that is mounted on a white card.

I finished it off with green Queen & Co. rhinestones, and made a bow out of narrow gold ribbon.

Another Frothy Christmas Card

I did this card with ordinary red and white card stock, using Spellbinders dies for the medallion and the foliage. I used a Martha Stewart border punch around the square mat, and the little poinsettias I made from an EK success punch and a tiny flower hand punch. (The kind that just looks like a regular silver paper punch).

I went around the outside of the card with a red stamp pad. The paper I mounted it all on is Core'dinations Pearl.
